In May 2019, around 75 students from our DP1 cohort (Y12/11thGrade) will participate in a site specific performance and installation of the Reverberation project at St Paul’s Within the Walls church on Via Nazionale in Rome. We are planning to work with some of the asylum seekers who attend the nearby Joel Nafuma refugee centre, many of whom are talented musicians and artists.
All students in our Y12 (11th Grade) will use several of their Wednesday afternoon core/CAS sessions to collaborate on sub-projects in music, creative writing and visual arts.
The outcomes will then be combined and performed/displayed within St Paul’s along with the 75 sculptures created by our IB DP1 artists and 8th grade students. The 8th grade students’ sculptures will include small speakers to allow them to play the audio pieces that they have been creating in their Music lessons LINK
We would also like our sculptures to communicate with some of the other schools’ work. This may be live or through recordings…
